Bizzare

So you thought engineering is all about geeks and nerds .All about a lots of tedious equations and formulae. All about work and no fun .To prove you wrong, ASME BITS-Pilani student section presents - BIZZARE, an event showcasing the fun side of every engineer. An event that asks you to play with your creativity to endless limits.

The event is all about inventing something ,quite innovative but pointless.
For example - the all-over plastic bathing costume, to enable people who suffer from aquaphobia to swim without coming into contact with water. This idea is great thought but anyone actually attempting to use this invention would find that it causes so many new problems, or such significant social embarrassment, that effectively it has no utility whatsoever.

So “BIZZARE” is all about coming up with innovations,creations that could be described at best as "unuseless" – that is, they cannot be regarded as 'useless' in an absolute sense, since they do actually solve a problem; however, in practical terms, they cannot positively be called "useful”.

Event Format

The teams can select any daily life problem on their own and make a working model to solve it. The team must ensure that it solves the problem but at the same time makes the usage of the model humorous. The abstracts will be shortlisted by us and in the final round the selected teams have to demonstrate a working model supported by a detailed presentation.

Abstract Format

• Team Name

• Team Members’ names.

• The real life problem your model deals with .

• Brief working of their model .

• Photograph or video of their model. (if possible).

• The last date for submission of abstracts is 25 Feb 2010.

Rules

• The teams can comprise of at most 3 members.

• The model will be judged solely on the basis of creativity of the idea or the concept involved and the humor that the model generates.

• Judges decision will be final and binding.
